Quiz about William Shakespeare

If you are reading or thinking about reading William Shakespeare with your students, it might be interesting, helpful and fun to have them learn about who this great playwright was and why he is so important to the English language. So, I suggest a quiz about his life. You can use it either as a 'quiz show' in your classroom or as an online competition (students post their answers on facebook, Orkut, for example, and the first ones to post correct answers with sources get prizes, marks, whatever you have decided in advance with your students.) The quiz is also an opportunity for students to learn how to use Internet as a source of information.

This is the quiz I wrote and assigned last month. First, I gave them a list of questions about Shakespeare's life and the due date. Then I downloaded some YouTube videos about his life, traillers of movies, such as Romeo and Juliet, I read the last scene of this play to them and, enthusiastically (I thought it was!), talked about one of my favorite plays (without giving away the ending, of course!). Finally, I played the following quiz show with them. Here, I suggest the marks, but this is up to you! Have fun and post your comments! I'm looking forward to them!
