Teaching kids or teens who are visual requires the use of meaningful images and objects they can see, touch and interact with. So, I've made this set of flags to teach nationalities and dialogs such as "-Where are you from? - I'm from ____. And you?" Students always love the flags (I have 26) and usually want to take them home!

My students are all from Brazil, so I plan the following activities:

1. Students receive one flag each. They pretend to be at a Sana Conference, for example, then, they walk about the room asking where their peers are from. They answer according to the flag they have (some usually "fight" for certain flags). After a couple of minutes, they sit down and report where their classmates are from.

2. Older students can use the flags to generate discussions about their general knowledge of the countries represented.

3. You can play Find Someone Who is from ...

Uso de bandeirinhas plastificadas. Elas são um charme na sala de aula, os alunos gostam e até querem levar para casa!

God must have spent a little more time on you
Can this be true
Tell me can this be real?
How can I put into words how I feel?
My life was complete
I thought I was whole
Why do I feel like I'm losing control?
Never thought that love could feel like this
And you changed my world with just one kiss
How can it be that right here with me?
Theres an angel
It's a miracle
CHORUS
Your love is like a river,
Peaceful and deep
Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep
When I look into your eyes
I know that its true,
God must have spent a little more time on you
In all of creations all things great and small
You are the one that surpasses them all
More precious than any diamond or pearl
They broke the mold when you came in this world
And I'm trying hard to figure out
Just how I ever did without
The warmth of your smile
The heart of a child
That's deep inside
Makes me purified
CHORUS
Your love is like a river,
Peaceful and deep
Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep
When I look into your eyes
I know that its true,
God must have spent a little more time on you
Never thought that love could feel like this
And you changed my world with just one kiss
How can it be that right here with me?
There's an angel
It's a miracle
CHORUS
Your love is like a river,
Peaceful and deep
Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep
When I look into your eyes
I know that its true,
God must have spent a little more time on you
God must have spent a little more time...
On you
Activity 3

Paint it black as recorded by The Rolling Stones

I see a red door and
I want to paint it black
No colors anymore
I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed
In their summer clothes
I have to turn my head
Until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars
And they're all painted black
With flowers and my love
Both never to come back
I see people turn their heads
And quickly look away
Like a new born baby
It just happens ev'ry day
I look inside myself
And see my heart is black
I see my red door
And it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away
And not have to face the facts
It's not easy facin' up
When your whole world is black
No more will my green sea
Go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee
This thing happening to you
If I look hard enough
Into the settin' sun
My love will laugh with me
Before the mornin' comes
I see a red door and
I want to paint it black
No colors anymoreI want them to turn black
